Instructions after piercing
Congratulations on your new piercing!
In order to ensure proper healing, it is important to follow the following instructions.
Proper care will reduce the risk of infection and/or other complications.
Hand washing
Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before touching the piercing.
Cleaning the piercing
Clean two to three times a day with a saline solution (NaCl 0.9%) or a gentle antiseptic spray (eg Ofenosept). Apply the solution to a sterile gauze or pad and gently clean the area around the piercing.
keeping dry**
After cleaning, dry the piercing with a clean tissue or allow it to air dry. Avoid toweling as this can cause irritation.
Make sure the piercing stays dry. Excessive moisture can slow the healing process and increase the risk of infection.
If the skin dries out too much, you can use natural oils (tea tree, castor oil...) for care.
Beware of rubbing
Wear loose and clean clothes made of natural and smooth materials (if the piercing is on the body) to avoid rubbing that could irritate or even pull out the piercing (dermal!).

!AVOID!
Unnecessary touching or turning of jewelry, as this increases the risk of infection and prolongs healing time.
Using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide
These substances are too strong and can damage tissue and prolong healing. This is expressed by drying out the surrounding skin. Use only saline or recommended antiseptics.
Bathing or swimming
At least for the first few weeks after the piercing. Bacteria in the water can cause infection. Over time, you can in clean sea water.
Exposure to the sun and solarium
Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds until the piercing is healed, as this can cause irritation and prolong healing time.
Use of make-up and perfume on the piercing area
Sleeping on a piercing, especially on the ear. Try sleeping on the opposite side to reduce pressure on the fresh piercing.
